When the rates were low during the pandemic, we felt motivated to create the mortgage calculator to help people buy houses at great rates and make the company feel more approachable. The idea was to create something that could help people buy their dream homes, while also educating them on the process. As the full-stack developer for this project, my role was to bring the design to life and ensure the mortgage calculator was accurate, user-friendly, and met all the necessary requirements.
One of the main challenges of implementing the mortgage calculator was ensuring that the calculations were accurate and up-to-date. We addressed this by using industry-standard formulas and regularly updating the rates to provide accurate results.
Another challenge was making the calculator user-friendly and accessible to a wide audience. We conducted user testing and implemented feedback to improve the overall user experience.
Finally, we needed to ensure that the calculator was secure and compliant with industry standards. We implemented security measures and conducted regular audits to maintain the integrity of the tool.
The mortgage calculator was built using a combination of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and React to create a user-friendly and interactive interface.
The calculator was also tested in various screen sizes and devices to make sure it was fully responsive on any device.
The mortgage calculator was successful in providing a user-friendly and accurate tool for homebuyers and real estate agents. By using industry-standard formulas and conducting user testing, we were able to create a calculator that accurately calculates monthly mortgage payments and helps users make informed decisions. The calculator is secure, responsive, and accessible, providing a valuable tool for our members and the general public.
